"it's getting really interesting now! i like the idea of the magic system a lot. i like where the characters are going. only thing i'm not entirely sold on yet is the writing style. for a book so focused on linguistics and the way language shapes reality, some phrases and the style in general feels a bit too modern? i'll talk about it more in the review" Sep 24, 2022 09:09AM

Robert Frost
“A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness.”
Robert Frost

J.D. Salinger
“What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.”
J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

Terry Pratchett
“The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.”
Terry Pratchett, Diggers

Rainer Maria Rilke
“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.”
Rainer Maria Rilke

Eleanor Roosevelt
“Work is always an antidote to depression.”
Eleanor Roosevelt
