“I grin before I get her injections. "OK, Diamond, you won't feel a thing." I rub the back of her head before scrunching up her neck fat, and I inject her immunizations. She doesn't feel a thing; she doesn't even flinch because she's too busy trying to lick me. I smile as I rub the area before grabbing her a treat, which she takes instantly, making me giggle. I look up at Ink for the first time to see his intense stare at me, and I clear my throat before grabbing her book and signing it. "OK, she's all healthy. Her weight is perfect, so Melanie is doing great with her.”
