i love Sally Rooney's writing because it is so subdued in its extremely perceptive descriptions of thoughts / feelings / relationships. but it also has very dry lines that make me laugh, sometimes so dry im not even sure it's meant to be funny. the line here is a good one toward the end that made me laugh (and this one im sure was intended to be funny).
