So this is how it all began--the Democratic Party's slow slide to the Center and the hope for a brighter future. Absolutely fascinating! Henry Wallace would have made a great encore to FDR, but corporate interests had their own ideas. I enjoy reading Nichols work in The Nation. This is one of the best books I have read since Anand Giridharadas' "Winners Take All." A must-read for any progressive Democrat that wants to know why their party is so horrible and why Bernie Sanders and The Squad are the shot in the arm the party so desperately needs.
