An amazing story about a woman who said she could and she did! It is unimaginable today to think about accomplishing a trip such as Annie Wilkins did over 70 years ago. And to travel by horseback across the United States was an unthinkable task! Such adventures she found along the way! The United States was a more generous cohesive place to live in the 50’s. Then it was safe to invite anyone into your home and treat them like family. It is hard to imagine the world today like it was then. It was a kinder place to live and I was lucky enough to live during that era in our history. It was happy, tough, lonely and sad to endure all the events that took place in her journey. Annie Wilkins was one tough lady and one I won’t forget anytime soon.
