"So far this book is everything I hoped it would be. Still not sure if I should read all of the notes at the same time as the story or if I should read just the notes clearly written first and then the later notes on a second read through? I've just been reading them all because I can't help being curious so hopefully it doesn't make a difference lol" Jan 09, 2024 09:18PM

Nora Ephron
“The odd thing about this form of communication is you're more likely to talk about nothing than something. But I just want to say that all this nothing has meant more to me than so many... somethings. So, thanks.”
Nora Ephron

L. Frank Baum
“Those who remember are usually the unhappy ones. Only those who are able to forget, find the most joy in life.”
L. Frank Baum, Sky Island

Michael Ende
“[Bastian] didn't like books in which dull, cranky writers describe humdrum events in the very humdrum lives of humdrum people. Reality gave him enough of that kind of thing, why should he read about it? Besides, he couldn't stand when a writer tried to convince him of something. And these humdrum books, it seemed to him, were always trying to do just that.”
Michael Ende, The Neverending Story

L. Frank Baum
“Never question the truth of what you fail to understand, for the world is filled with wonders”
L. Frank Baum, Rinkitink in Oz

Kate DiCamillo
“Pascal," said Dr. Meescham, "had it that since it could not be proven whether God existed, one might as well believe that he did, because there was everything to gain by believing and nothing to lose. This is how it is for me. What do I lose if I choose to believe? Nothing!"

"Take this squirrel, for instance. Ulysses. Do I believe he can type poetry? Sure, I do believe it. There is much more beauty in the world if I believe such a thing is possible.”
Kate DiCamillo, Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures
