So I put off reading this book because I saw how everyone and their grandmother on TikTok was just loving this book. And I don't trust TikTok much on book reviews. But I was bored and decided to pick up this book.

And I'm really glad I did 4.5/5 stars

So I put off reading this book because I saw how everyone and their grandmother on TikTok was just loving this book. And I don't trust TikTok much on book reviews. But I was bored and decided to pick up this book.

And I'm really glad I did because it was just one of those "can't put down cause I need to know what happens next" types of books. But only giving this 4.5 stars. It was almost perfect. Keyword here, almost.

I LOVE that Ali Hazelwood chose to write her heroine as a STEM female since I haven't read a lot of novels with that type of heroine. It's super refreshing and also relatable as someone who also is in the STEM field. Olive is such a strong character. She also just happens to be really good at her job and is just a BOSS at work. Though, at times during the book, she did annoy me with some of her choices and just the way she perceived some things. But in the end, she does redeem herself.

Adam I feel like is THE BOOK BOYFRIEND that everyone wants/deserves. He's hot, sensitive, but also really smart. And that's the combination for a perfect hero. I don't want to give away too much, but he really is the star of the book and he is going to make you swoon over him.

How Olive and Adam's fake relationship starts was quite cringy. There is some forced PDA that I didn't really love. But once you get pass all of that, it's the "I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT" vibes. I LOVE the banter between the two of them and how the romance is slow. Olive and Adam aren't straight up in a relationship halfway through the book suddenly. There is really good character development and backstories for both Olive and Adam. And the interactions they have don't feel too cringy, but more real like this could be an interaction that people have in real life.

Overall, really loved this book! Ali Hazelwood knocked it out of the park for her debut novel. And Im excited to read more of her work.

If you are looking for a romance book that is kinda cringy (only really in the earlier parts of the book_, really funny and super hot. This is definitely the book for you. ...more "
