وقد أعدم من المحكومين في ست سنين على يدِ الإنجليز في فلسطين وحدها ، أكثر مما أعدم في كل المملكة العثمانية الشاسعة في عهد السلطان عبدالحميد الذي طالت خلافته أكثر من ثلاثين سنة ،،،
رغم أن الناس كانوا ينظرون إلى عبدالحميد كحاكم ظالم ومستبد ... وإلى الإدارات الإنجليزية كإدارات دستورية عادلة حكيمة !!
