Many of us black girls who LOOK like black girls grew up in a time where our blackness was subpar.... There needed to me something "else" more "exotic" to be considered beautiful. Those girls grew up with insecurities that they've overcome, watched as society (sometimes) celebrates our beauty now. I've found a man who loves me as is, and has helped me come to terms and accept my beauty. The older I get the more I fall into security... Confidence... And eff the world.
