In 2015, students at Spring Hill Middle School in Tennessee were required to write, “There is no god but Allah; and Muhammed is his prophet,” which is a statement used by those who convert into Islam.15 Students in some schools have been told to memorize parts of the Qur’an, shout, “Allahu Akbar!,” and to fast over lunch in honor of Ramadan.”
