"I am keen to learn more about how to better deal with emotions and improve interactions with people but after a long day of work reading this brings no enjoyment. I crave fiction to forget or release the day's baggage and this just makes me think of all the past situations (not necessarily negative) that I could have handled differently. If this wasn't given to me by a friend, I'm not confident I eould finish this." Feb 28, 2025 02:02PM

If you don't like someone's story, write your own.
“If you don't like someone's story, write your own.”
Chinua Achebe

Marianne Williamson
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles"

“Remember to always be yourself. Unless you suck.”
Joss Whedon

1. The right to not read

2. The right to skip pages

3. The right to not finish

4. The right to reread

5. The right to read anything

6. The right to escapism

7. The right to read anywhere

8. The right to browse

9. The right to read out loud

10. The right to not defend your tastes”
Daniel Pennac

Robert Frost
“Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.”
Robert Frost
