This was what people were angry about? Can people not comprehend anymore? The housekeeper frowned at the choices, so it means this combination is exclusively eaten by Maya. Just because you are from one culture that doesn't mean you follow your culture to a T. Everyone has their quirks, maybe this was Maya's. This doesn't mean that the author did not research like omg. For example, I like to each my parathas with jam which is eaten by no one I know, so am I not Indian enough??
