"Good story so far but I have a correction: here in NC, medical examiners aren’t volunteers. They’re employees with the Office of the chief medical examiner(OCME) a state agency in Raleigh within the div. of public health and autopsy centers throughout the state. Our chief ME and asst. "I’m getting sick of Harriet tbh. Her being a cop is the reason she is so fucked up. Just like the previous books, everything in her life is so sad and depressing and heavy and gritty and hard and there is no joy in her life. Why is she written like this ?? as much as I love a black female lead in a mystery series this ain’t it.
