"Curious to see how this will go, since I felt everything was pretty wrapped up already.
Also seems like Preston will have a larger role (judging from the cover as well). Personally, what I really loved about the first one was its focus on Effy's experiences navigating sexism + the gothic aspects of it. And the romance to me always felt secondary to all that. So hoping Preston doesnt overshadow Effy too much." — Sep 13, 2025 06:18AM

“If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.”

“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”
