""It wasn't anymore families. It was everybody to take care for himself!" (Spiegelman 114). This shows how when in crisis, you can't rely on anyone for anything- not even our relatives. Everyone has to fight for themselves just like in real life. No one is ever going to do anything for you for free(and not expecting anything in return) except your parents and VERY close family.
P.S. I finished the book(1st one)" — Feb 22, 2020 09:11AM

"*the copy I have only has 89 pages*
"'We are born, we are given just so much food as will keep the breath in our bodies...'" (Orwell 3). The book starts off with all the animals gathering to hear Major's(a pig) speech about what he supposedly dreamt of. Just a few sentences into the speech and the readers already have a glimpse of the motives for conflict in the book itself- to rebel against humans." — Dec 07, 2019 07:20AM

""These are some of the reasons why I hate yellow and brown" (Haddon 83), and Christopher starts giving reasons. I like how Christopher always has reasons for everything - however, it is kind of sad. He isn't able to like something just because he likes it. There is always a reason behind it. I feel like sometimes people should just go with their heart and not have to rely so heavily on real-life reasonings." — Dec 01, 2019 08:45AM
