"Some boys" is romance/ contemporary, My overall opinion of " Some boys" is that it was amazing and that the topic, should be talked about more in schools and the media, ***Spoiler Alert ***.
The setting of "Some boys"is the school ,Grace's house, and Ian's house. The plot of the book is when Grace goes to a party, She get's raped by the most popular guy in school. She tries to prove to people that she is not a liar.(Zai).The most popular guy in school is the town's Holden boy meaning that everyone loves him and that everyone believes what he says. Then Grace meets Ian and, Ian can see the real Grace. Not the tuff Grace. He can also give Grace the courage she need to fight back. But there is one problem. Ian's is Zac's best friend. The theme of " Some boys" is that sometimes we have to fight the things that scares us the most. The Conflict in the story is person vs. person because Grace has to face the whole school that is against her and her old best friend chi chooses to believe the rumors than to believe her own best friend.
A major event that changed Grace was when she got raped, it made her weak, but then stronger because she got the courage to fight. Fight the school, her parents and Zac. Another major things that changed her was that she had to face her father, who left Gerald her mom. She had to face him because her father and mother kept on arguing about that it was each other's fault why Grace went to the party and had gotten rapped. Also, Grace had to face her step mom who is a terrible person.
I was surprised to learn that before Grace got raped, Ian and Grace had feelings for each other, but they didn't admit it to one another. And also the whole reason why Grace went to the party was because she heard that Ian was going to be there. And Grace wanted Ian's attention. But after all that happened, Ian's stayed away because as boys say, it's wrong to go without best friends (ex) girl. But that got me angry because Grace and Zac never went out. I also was surprised to find out that, when Grace had to clean up the school, her parents was Ian and that's when the talking and the feelings and connection for each other happened.
I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars because this book address a very serious topic that most people are feeling awkward talking about it. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a book in modern times and Ho anyone who likes reading. Also because this book gives you a roller coaster of emotions. So next time when you want to feel emotions, come to " some boys" amusement park and take the roller coster of emotions,Trust e this book will go up and down. ...more "
