They meet during a counseling meeting for kids with all types of cancer they call it in other words the “heart of Jesus.” Hazel and Augustus fall in love with each other and they both go to amsterdam together because they both were read an Imperial Affection and they wanted to get more answers from the author because the book ended in the middle of a sentence. So when they went to the man’s house his assistant opened the door and she told them to come in but peter didn’t know that anyone was coming over and when he saw them he wasn’t very happy at all because he doesn’t like company. When they first got their they were excited but after awhile they were disappointed because they realised that he was really mean and he was also an alcoholic. When they tried to ask him questions he would try and not answer them and try and change the subject on them, after a while peter was getting even more rude and mean to them as it went on and so they decided that it was time for them to leave. After they left his assistant came outside and was running to go and catch up with them, and when she did she said that she was so sorry and asked them if they wanted to go to Anne Frank house and they did after that they ended up going back to their hotel room and then Augustus had to tell hazel something that he has been keeping from her and that was that his cancer was back and it was to far along that there was no cure that could help him so he was dieing. That made hazle very sad because he was her first and only love that she has ever had. After a few weeks and months went by Gus was getting worse and at this point he could hardly move at all and he was really just stuck in bed. Until one night where he wanted to do one thing on his own and that was to go and get himself a pack of cigarettes but he never smoked them it was just his way of not letting something that kills have to chance to kill him. But when he got to the gas station he noticed that the tube that was in his belly was infected and he called Hazel and she drove over there and he had to go to the hospital and a few days later Gus had died. They later had his funeral and Peter ended up showing up and he was talking to hazel about the book and he tells her that it was really about his daughter and she was writing it before she died and the reason why it stopped in the middle of a sentence was because she had died.
My opinion on the book it really good I really enjoyed it because it put a good picture in my head and made me really enjoy every second of the book. I feel like if you are a person who likes love stories then this is a good book for you or even if you can relate to it in any way. I would give this book a 10/10 I would totally read it again. ...more "
