"Should I technically be reading this with my eyes closed to avoid an a posteriori sensibility interference of my understanding?
Reading pop self help books like Atomic Habits has me going "oh my god don't repeat yourself 100 times". Reading Murakami has me thinking "okay I know I probably should remember the plot but THANKS for repeating it a bit". Kant has me "Oh my god please repeat and say in a different way"." — Nov 20, 2025 01:07AM

"Wasn't sure I'd appreciate this based on the seemingly lightly "alternatively" sourced material on colonization and Revolutionary era America - I felt the narrative to be necessary yet somewhat weakly composed by Zinn - but I feel this really starts to pick up around the advent of socialism in the U.S. It tracks with the propagation of populist literature I imagine." — Dec 17, 2022 11:49PM
