“الآن فكر في هذا جيدًا.. سوف تكتشف أن نسيجك الأخلاقي يتكون من عشرات بل مئات المواقف التي اجتزتها مع والديك أو معلميك، وهذه المواقف تركت لك في كل مرة دينًا يجب أن تفي به. كثيرًا ما ننسى هذا الدين.. ولا تحسب الأمر سهلاً.. عندما بكيت أمام أبي لأنني لا أذكر شيئًا من منهج الجغرافيا والتاريخ ليلة الامتحان، وضع يده على كتفي وجلس يراجع لي المنهج حتى ما بعد منتصف الليل.. عندما تكرر ذات الموقف مع ابني اعتبرته مستهترًا. المصري الذي استضافني أسبوعين كاملين في بيته في ذلك البلد العربي إلى أن وجدت شقة، وبرغم هذا عندما امتلكت شقة صار من الصعب أن أستضيف معي شخصًا لا أعرفه. الأستاذ الذي أشرف على رسالتي العلمية الأولى، صادف الكثير من الأخطاء في المراجع فأصلحها ولم يعلق، بينما انفجرت أنا غيظًا عندما رأيت أخطاء المراجع في أول رسالة أشرف عليها في حياتي. لكني أحاول ان أتصرف مثل الأستاذ الأول.. أحاول...”
