Harry had grown up in a village in Holland, and now he works at a school just for girls called The Knox School. He is a very brave man he lived through the war and he has trained horses which is a very important job because of the war at that time. The other main character is Snowman he is a grey flea-bitten gelding (a male neutered horse) when he came he was missing a front shoe, hooves were grown outage cracked, his coat was dull, matted, and caked with mud, open wounds on his knees, he was thin, and the marks across his chest showed that he'd pulled a heavy harness. He was no younger than eight years old, and quite possible older. Snowman was a very brave horse he showed that by when the horses at the auction are usually jittery, but Snowman showed no worry. Read this book to find out how Snowman becomes The Eighty Dollar Champion! My overall opinion of the book is that it is an awesome,intelligent,fascinating, and interesting book. I think this book is interesting and fascinating because it gives such good details and makes you really want to read more. I think this book is awesome because I love animals and it really gives you a good understanding of what the “horse world” is all about. I thought that the author used caring and loving words to help express this story and give it a good flow and detail to it. One positive aspect of the book is how you learn how amazing it can be when you give a living animal a chance like when Harry takes a chance on rescuing Snowman. In my opinion there was no negative aspect in this book the author told the story really well. I would say that this might be a good book for someone who is truly passionate for animals. I think this because it gives a good sense of how there is a good relationship between Harry and Snowman and the love they share. The book exceeded my expectations when you get into the middle because it starts getting meaningful and exciting. Like when Harry sells Snowman, and then he ends up back at his farm the next morning. I have a very good feeling when Harry and Snowman accomplished their dreams to work as a team and exceed their goals. I can relate to this book because of my life style, we love and rescue horse. Like when Snowman was a very good jumper and beat many of the bred jumping horses. This book made me wonder how many other people gave a chance to a horse about to be put down and got there for ever dream horse. I say this because I know somebody that rescued a horse that was another guys junk but her treasure. ...more "
