“لا علاقة للطائفة بالمذهب أو الدين ,فالتعصّب للدين هو تعصّب لعقيدة أو لنصّ أو هو تعصّب لله .... و التعصّب لطوائف هو تعصّب لبشر منهم المؤمن و منهم غير المؤمن , منهم الخيرو منهم الشرير , منهم الوطني ومنهم العميل و هكذا , و التعصّب لجماعة بشريّة بحكم الولادة بهذا المعنى هو نوع من الجاهليّة في نظر الإسلام , الطائفية نظام سياسي اجتماعي و ليس دينا أو تديّنا...فكثير من الطائفين غير متديّنين”
