i'm bad with reviews but here i go.

this book would have gotten 5 stars, if it weren't for the confusing parts, when it's written in the monsters POV. sadly i did never really knew what the heck was going on in these scenes or just the gener 4.5 stars

i still would love to know more about those swords. :c i LOVE crazy or unique swords. and i LOVED the concept of singing swords with an eye. i still don't know if it is a living being or something artificial. nothing really is ever explained what those swords really are. (sadly, a lot never get's really explained and you literally get dumped into the world without any knowledge)
the swords pretty much detect lies and enemies and even protects the wielder from damage.
sometimes the sword seemed like capable of emotions. and sometimes the sword seemed like that it was never wielded by the person, but rather was able to control the person like a puppet master.

what made me start actually loving this book were the characters. since it was hard to fall in love with a world barely explained... so i really started to like it, when the mute vagrant, who travels with a baby, a singing sword and a goat, meets the young man called "harm".

i don't know if the author intended their relationship to come off like this, BUT OH BOY DID I GOT SOFT GAY-VIBES. so i just gonna slap a few of my fav moments in here:

Harm's fingertips brush against the Vagrant's arm, daring only the briefest touch. His voice is soft, barely a whisper. "You don't have to be alone." A sorrow-woven smile touches the Vagrant's lips.

"Your baby, does she have a name?" Lines appear on the Vagrant's face, sorrowful, adding years. His mouth opens, closes again (....) Defeated, he covers his head with his hands. "Everyone should have a name.", says Harm softly. "Perhaps i could help you choose one."

THEN there is the moment the baby calls harm mother. /CRIES INTO BOTH HANDS/

Harm arrives at his back, Vesper hoisted on one hip. He leans in close, lips brushing the Vagrant's ear, keen to keep their secrets. <<<<--- the author didn't need to write that harm's lips touch the vragrant. but the author literally writes every little touch they share. their hands brushing together, a hand gliding down an arm, etc etc.

and IN THE END they literally live together in a small house, with the baby and the goat. uhm... how can you not ship those two??

so the characters are really what gives the book its charme... because the worldbuilding was kinda lacking for me ; _; ...more "
