Author has never been stung by nettles and doesn't know how they work.
They do not climb up walls, they do not grow on upper floors. An object that was covered with the hypothetical climbing stinging nettle does not burn once the nettles are removed. Author has never been stung by nettles and doesn't know how they work.
They do not climb up walls, they do not grow on upper floors. An object that was covered with the hypothetical climbing stinging nettle does not burn once the nettles are removed. You can even avoid being stung if you just don't touch the top of the leaves. They do not cause days of stinging unless you have an allergy. The rash doesn't transfer. (although that's only assumed by a guy who spends all his time wandering around ruins but apparently can't recognise a super common plant and may not be the opinion of the author)
It feels as if the author wrote poison ivy, realised it doesn't grow in Scotland and just search and replaced it with nettles.
Every time I pick up the book all I can think about is the nettles. Totally broke my immersion.
Otherwise the plot is typically predictable. I can tell exactly what will happen and I'm only about a third in.
Will finish. Will not read more by the author....more
