હું દિગ્મૂઢ થઈ ગયો. આ વૃદ્ધ સ્ત્રી ભલે ધાર્મિક તહેવારે અહીં આવી છે. પરંત તેને અહીંયા સુધી ખેંચી લાવનાર માત્ર ધર્મ નથી. તે તો આવી છે તહેવારને બહાને પોતાના દરિયાને મળવા. એ દરિયો જેણે તેના બાળપણને શંખલા-છીપલાંની ભેટ ધરીને શણગાર્યું છે. તેની યુવાનીને મૃદુ તરંગોથી ભીંજવી છે અને સમગ્ર જીવનના કડવા-મીઠા અનુભવોનો સાક્ષી રહ્યો છે ..એ દરિયો તે વળી એક ડોલમાં શી રીતે સમાઈ શકે, ભલા?”
