When it comes to important decision makings like selling house, car, or hiring someone or finding a loved one the price is not the only thing that matters. You have to account for the cost of waiting for a better offer or better choice.
Always consider role of time, when you do lots of interviews with the secretary, you are wasting your time of getting your own work done.
ch2- life is a balance of changing between tradition and novelty. Choosing a new restaurant or new album is like pulling a lever of a slot machine at a casino. I mostly like a restaurant better when I am moving away from the restaurant. good options should not be penalized too much for one mistake. ur fav restaurant makes a bad meal once, would u give up on it? Profits today is more valueable than the profit yesterday. It tells a more about market. Tonight's meal is more important than tomorrow's meal. Tomorrow's meal is more important than next year's meal. Trying new things, increases our chance of finding better stuff. Grass in greener on the other side. but is it worth the cost of moving there by climbing the fence. Regrets looms large. We regret about the things we didnt do. Options we didnt explore. Babies are good at exlrolation. bad at exploitation, cannot even tie their shoes. Lifelong social selection - old people have fewer friends. Some say it is a deliberate choice.
ch3- we search with our quick eyes, and sort with our slow hands. Saving time is not the only reason why we sort things. Single elimination process does not define the bronze medal winner. That is why in the bronze medals competition is held. Silver medals are bullshit.
ch4 - latest used items and information are more accessible. Memory and knowledge or skills you have acquired long time ago fades. Old people are slow in thinking, cuz their database is relatively bigger.
ch4- scheduling, if you are flammable and you have moving legs, you are never blocking teh fire exit. The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is now.
