“If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. But, sad or merry, I must leave it now. Farewell. - Thorin”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit, or There and Back Again

“I should like to save the Shire, if I could - though there have been times when I thought the inhabitants too stupid and dull for words, and have felt that an earthquake or an invasion of dragons might be good for them. ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“You’d be surprised at the sorts of things hidden away in children’s songs.”
― Patrick Rothfuss, The Name of the Wind

“his reach exceeds his grasp. He tries to do things no one else would even dream of attempting-and he usually brings about three-quarters of it off. The last quarter sometimes trips him up, but the parts he does manage are remarkable. And no one else would have tried.”
― Hilari Bell, The Last Knight
