TBH, Ravensong was my least favorite of the series, but every time I read I fall in love a little more. The time jumps and learning Gordo and Mark’s backstory was written so well. The plot of the hunters coming was just amazing and added more to the history of Green Creek and the Bennett Pack.

Gordo has gone through so much in his life. Losing his mother, his father going AWOL, the loss of two packs and his mate. It’s no wonder he a little grumbly. Gordo is one of my favorite characters. I love his snark and he always makes me laugh, but I also love his softer side too. He tries so hard to cover his soft heart that has been broken so many times, but no matter how hard he tries his mate and his pack always break through.

Mark’s life hasn’t been free from loss and pain. He, too has lost a pack, his alpha had ordered him away from his mate and had lost his brother. Where Gordo had become, well, kind of mean, Mark had become more introspective. He never truly gave up on Gordo, it seemed like he had continued on with his life, but always held that place for Gordo.

The pack again is faced with fighting for what’s theirs, this time in the face of hunters and again betrayal, but in Bennett fashion, they close ranks and and put pack first. They definitely grew from Wolfsong, whether it’s from experience or Ox now being a true alpha or maybe a little of both, I’m not sure. Where as in Wolfsong their grief pulled them apart, the events of Ravensong pushed them together.

I’m getting excited because we are getting closer to Brothersong, which is my favorite of the series! It’s now onto Heartsong and having my heart torn out, again. Which, I swear, is Klune’s goal with all of his writing. It always hits me right in the feels.
