I started reading this book for the English class to understand and find the factor of empathy. This book timeline is based on 1948 Montana which is a small and poor city. The main character of this book is the son of the sheriff and he is having dissatisfaction with his father. As the story goes on the book shows mental growth of boy and suggest different types of justice and the truth of the real world. At that time there was an issue between U.S citizens and native American and this is also used as the factor to show the force that is using for bad purposes. By reading this book I could have three major different ideas and could understand the reason why my English teacher suggested us to read this novel.

This book is including critical ideas and information that makes people think again about the standard of justice and complicated life. To shows the different standard of justice, the author suggested two important things for the people which is family and law. By reading this book I could feel empathy about the situation because sometimes people met the situation that two different values collide with each other. Also, by using the son of the sheriff, the author sends us the message to readers that living inside the society is not an easy thing to do. In this book, the death of important people became the trigger of the situations and lead the characters to have a life lesson that life is not easy like a movie and the conflicts. By reading this book I could keep thinking about life and justice.

At the end of the book, I could meet myself that keep thinking about what is true justice and d short stories. Before I read the book I believe there is the proper standard of justice that everyone is sharing, but after I read the book I start to more deeply thinking about my life. I strongly suggest this novel to others because of the idea of justice and makes people could learn what is being mature and makes keep thinking about themselves as an individual. ...more "

It was an unforgettable experience for me to make a good relationship with my pet and spend time understanding each other. Because of this experience when I read the short summary of this book, I chose this book for my school project. The Art of Racing in the Rain is the story about the dog Enzo and his owner Denny. Enzo is the dog who thinks like a human being that has a strong bond with Denny. In the story when Denny was suffering, Enzo used his ability to inspire and support him. This was the part that made me hooked in this book because the relationship between people and pets is a charming topic for the person who loves animals, especially that relates to love. Also, I chose this book because it shows what is a great example of the true relationship between the owner and the pet.
In this book, different characters represent diverse types of relationships and bonds. Those relationships include friendship, family love, and etc. Especially the thing that surprised me was the power of the bond between people and pets. Even though Denny was in a desperate situation, Enzo sacrificed all of his life to support him. That made Denny achieve his dream at the end of the book which was the most heartwarming part of this book. This is the part that eases the readers to feel empathetic on the relationship between the two. Also, the book highlights the idea of thinking about pets from their perspective. Some of the people do not acknowledge the fact that animals can think the same as humans, but this book demonstrates that animals can also think the same as us and share their feelings. One of the great examples in the book that demonstrate this is the meeting of Annika and Denny. In chapter 38, Annika tried to get sexual contact with Denny because of her distorted fanship, but Enzo’s intelligence helps to resolve the situation and eventually restrains it. This was also the part that confused me because the bold action of Annika shocked me because I have not expected this kind of thing to happen from someone so young. It is inappropriate for teenagers at that age to have sexual relationships with an adult. That is the reason why I got confused during reading and understanding the book.
By reading this book I have learned many lessons and got a chance to learn about the value of having a healthy relationship with others. Also, this book taught me the importance of not giving up through Denny and also teaches that we need to learn and accept the consequences in the process of failure to make the experience our own. I highly suggest this book to others especially for pet owners because this story shows great friendships and family love by showing a bond between pet and owner as an example. I believe by reading this book you will get a chance to look at yourself again and significantly improve your life. ...more "
