"i actually like how frank’s death is set up a lot more in the book, but also i wonder what it says about cultural shorthand/cultural thoughts about reconstruction in the 30s that it didn’t have to be set up so explicitly in the movie. or maybe i’m reading into something that is really just “well this movie is already 3 hours long”" — Aug 24, 2026 06:51PM
