I’m not sure if I could call this book heart warming because the main character is a bit of a judgey menace due to childhood trauma and extreme isolation, but the growth she experiences through unconditional friendship, therapy, and life outside her comfort zone, is heartening. The main takeaway here is that the world is perhaps a kinder place (despite all the evil Eleanor’s experienced) than we may have been conditioned to believe.
