The grief process is also the coping process and if the grief is frozen by ambiguity, by the constant possibility of reversal, then so is the ability to cope.
If someone has died you can learn to live with that loss. It’s a certain thing. What if you lose a person to dementia, or trauma? How do you cope with that, with the possibility that they could come back or not? What is it you’re trying to cope with?
