Don’t forget—comparison is the thief of joy.”
I really loved this book. The characters were so SO well matched and I was excited to see their relationship develop with witty banter and wonderful conversations. I read the second book before I read this one, so I kind of had some spoilers from doing that during my read. It was alright that I knew some of the things that would happen, but I would read them in order if I could do it over. Loved this one, I've loved most of Lauren's books. She has a real gift to put a great story together with vivid characters that you root for. Well done!
“These are the few ways we can practice humility:
To speak as little as possible of one's self.
To mind one's own business.
Not to want to manage other people's affairs.
To avoid curiosity.
To accept contradictions and correction cheerfully.
To pass over the mistakes of others.
To accept insults and injuries.
To accept being slighted, forgotten and disliked.
To be kind and gentle even under provocation.
Never to stand on one's dignity.
To choose always the hardest.”
