"Started this after turning off Han Kang's Human Acts, needed people and life more than far-flung atrocity. The life in the prose, alliteration/playful indulgences, was just what I needed. ~Ch 12 or 13 of audiobook he starts talking on T Rex and Bowie, it takes off after worthwhile psychogeographic milieu intro. LOL'd at how 40 yrs later he's writing about Raw Power, not Goats Head Soup. Loved the Sparks descriptions."

"Joar, younger spectrumy astrophysicist neurotic incel brother of Syvert, is an intriguing narrator. Set in Oslo a while after the new star went out. A fun visit from Syvert (odd couple dynamic, interesting also in terms of how it may relate to Yngve/Karl Ove dynamic). An LOL yet sympathetic scene getting an ultrasound.
