I bought this book when it first came out but I didn’t pick it up for some reason. I’m honestly glad I waited because I feel like I needed to be in a fantasy mood to read it. It’s such an easy read and the world-building is easy to imagine.

I didn’t know much about this book before starting. I knew there were dragons and it had a divergent vibe. But that was it, it’s better than whatever expectations I might have had. I bought the Waterstones special edition before reading the original and the next book so a lot was riding on this 🤣

I feel sorry for you poor souls who had to wait for Iron Flame. The plot twists were something else. I’m reading this for the second time now and I still feel the same emotions as I felt the first time I read it.

The ending had me gasping, I honestly did not expect it at all. Aren’t they the best ones though?

The reason I didn’t review it the first time I read it. This is because by the time I had finished both books I was exhausted. I instantly picked up the second book and could not tell you what happened in a particular book. I felt like I had been on one long journey but that’s definitely not a bad thing. This is by far my favourite fantasy book and I’m dying for the third book.

Right now I want to tell every what happened. But I don’t want to spoil the experience. This book made me feel everything. I was laughing, screaming, gushing and it even made me cry and it takes a lot to make me cry.

I loved the found family element honestly out of all the tropes that’s my favourite. They have such a strong friendship group but I’m honestly terrified of what’s to come because Rebecca clearly took inspiration from Game of Thrones because absolutely nobody is safe. She’s given me serious trust issues and I’m scared 🫣

But other than that I’ve never read anything like this. I love reading about the training, the character build up and even the slow-burn relationship. I was not expecting the spice but god was it hot!! I mean they destroyed her bedroom 😩 The chemistry had me blushing and kicking my legs in excitement!

I love how strong Violet is, she struggles daily but she never gives up regardless of the odds. The snarky dragons that are extremely protective and cute Andarna. I would go to sleep every night and cuddle up with her. She’s also a little sassy which I love 🥰

I could go on and on about this book. There was nothing I didn’t love except for ONE THING

Liam…why did you do that Rebecca?!! 😭 NOT COOL!!!
