“Lost it in a fire,” lied Rincewind automatically.
“No hat with magic sigils embroidered on it.”

“It died.”

“It could be worse,” he said by way of farewell. “It could be me.”

Starting a series of this length is a big deal, and now I'm unsure if I'm just in one of my moody intervals or if I'm simply just not enjoying this novel, I haven't gotten the moment like with the Riftwar Cycle where I just knew I'd push through till something truly trash level occurs and perhaps even through that.
