Status Updates From Horn of the Moon Cookbook

Tbh knowing myself and my schedule I'm probably not going to do the food blog idea. I always talk about starting blogs for xyz but never follow through. but it's at least motivation for me to level up my food presentation skills.

But I do want to work on my food presentation skills. It does make a difference in how people perceive and even taste the food.

And it would be fun to create a blog where I cook the recipes of some of the older cookbooks I've discovered, and then put them on Pinterest. It would give the older, forgotten about cookbooks more exposure. People pay more attention to pretty photos of food.

This is why I can't do instagram. Not a bookstagram or even for food. I'm too much of a perfectionist with the photos and want to keep up with the quality of everyone else's photos. Too much of an energy suck and time drain.

Oh, and I also bought the more expensive red bell peppers (I usually go with green bell peppers, they're cheaper) just so they'd make the food look better and 'pop' in the photos.

I don't do seasonal decorations but I'm seriously considering buying a white pumpkin just to have in the background of the photos of food. I almost bought an indoor plant, just to have in the damn photos of food, but refrained.

I have such a bad case of Keeping up with the Jones's right now. I went to Goodwill to look for photo worthy dishware - we chip and break dishware like crazy so this is literally just for show. I lucked out and Goodwill did have designer dishware. By designer I mean Better Homes & Gardens, but it's better than the dishware from the 80s with the floral patterns they always have
