Here we go again. I was pleasantly surprised by the first book, but the second one was a lot… dumber. This book gets off on an interesting foot when Daniel reveals the existence of Abydos to the Earth, but then it’s all about them trying to create defenses against Hathor’s ship. No examination of how the public reacts or anything.

Some leaders think that news of Hathor's approach is fake.

So much posturing. I want to see some fighting and I want to see it now!

Without the three space stations and the orbital weapons platforms, it's the end of the world as we know it.

Sha'uri is quite the bitch, but Hathor is queen bitch of the galaxy. Daniel Jackson has been emasculated by both.
