Here we go again. I was pleasantly surprised by the first book, but the second one was a lot… dumber. This book gets off on an interesting foot when Daniel reveals the existence of Abydos to the Earth, but then it’s all about them trying to create defenses against Hathor’s ship. No examination of how the public reacts or anything.
