Status Updates From Poor Banished Children

Historical Fiction novel based on slave trade during the 1700’s very insightful

More trauma while I wait for the dentist 🤩

I alr know this is gonna traumatize me

This book reads like a movie, an hour and a half of reading flies by like nothing while I am immersed in the story of this brave soul brought into a series of desperations. It is astonishing how the author depicts nearly everything about to happen and still one trembles from page to page about what happens next ...

That childbirth ... wow I felt that to my core

Oh, this is good :)
The characters are well-written and the story depicts unnervingly how dire the chances for a woman in her time and status were and how she, despite it, submits herself to her destiny. It makes me wonder how many women in the past lived a saintly life, following the Lord with all their hearts placing their sorrows and injustice of the time at his feet, and taking their crosses and carrying them.

It's probably quite hard to understand from a modern point of view how a mother could do something like that ....
