A German would call it football, not soccer. She'd probably give a German player's name as an example too, and only elaborate with Beckham after the American appeared confused.

Good for him.

So this is where the author stops pretending to be subtle and introduces a hammer. Not that there ever was any doubt which book she was talking about. What happened? Gabaldon didn't okay the tribute? I am shocked.

And that makes it okay? Congratulations, they're both wrong and I don't think these two deserve a HEA with each other.

Her choice, dammit, it was her choice. They asked and she chose. He's not a mind reader.

Of course she didn't tell him. The right thing is too hard to do.

He wanted to plough her thighs? Well, plow, since this is in American English, but I'm not sure even that makes it anatomically possible.

He's not actively trying to coax her into bed with him, so that's good. But he is aware she's intoxicated and he IS trying to manipulate her into writing the article in a way that's most lucrative to him. Taking advantage of her drunkenness economically is still taking advantage of her.

We don't want men acting like fictitious fantasy alpha males from romance novels. We want men to read romance novels, so they can discuss the books with us and charm our pants off that way. Or is that just me?

I'm not sure I like the age difference, not because there's something wrong with it but because of what it implies about her career. Then again, I've been told over-achievers do exist.

The *poop* talk is annoying me.

It's not the accent but the voice that's British. And apparently she can't pronounce the l in little.

Writing lesson number one: Always introduce your heroine by objectifying her and making her the total sum of her best asset as viewed by the hero.

Oh No! I have read the 1st page 6 times. This is not looking so good for my buddy read. All I can think about is Curran. Wendy you had to mention him. Do I keep reading or pick up Kate Daniels? We shall see.

This book is so much fun. I can't remember the last book I read that made me frequently laughter out loud.

So far, I have good feelings about this book. It takes place in NYC in the magazine world (a world I am familiar with) with a hero and heroine with a sexy past who banter. LOVE IT! I just hope the story isn't weighed down by the subplots. (Also, first romance novel that I read that features a handicapped (handicapable?) sidekick.

Actually, I'm reading the Kindle version... but this book is CRACKING ME UP! I love the "Kiltlander" and "Vamp" references! I can't wait to get further into the book!

I might be at the beginning of a reading slump. I've really liked all of Cready's previous novels, but this might be one of the few books I set aside and feel no compunction to return to. This is happening with 2 of my other current reads, and I don't like the feeling!

OMG. This is my new favorite book. As in it's 5 purple hearts worthy even though I still have another 100 pages to go. I don't think I've laughed this hard. Ever. It's laugh so hard until you cry and slightly pee on your self funny. Not that I'm admitting to the last part.

This is so cute! The way the book club is gushing over Kiltlander is exactly how I feel about Outlander. Love this!
