Through the first two chapters I frequently found myself thinking “I know that exact feeling and this articulates it beautifully”. In chapter three, Joyce devotes multiple long passages to catholic preaching that are making this difficult to get through.

It begun slow but I am really beginning to enjoy. There have been so many moments of childlike innocence expressed beautifully and honestly. I keep finding myself going “I felt exactly like this as a child”.
