This is the second time that I’ve worked through this book - I have played the guitar on and off for a good few years.
At the moment, I’m on page 51 working on exercise 27. I’m using an acoustic guitar rather than a classical guitar which may be a little bit more difficult to play and has a tendency for ringing the notes out a lot more.
As I have worked through this book before I fully recommend it.

I'm stalling around "the fifth position" and looking to get supplementary lessons in other books/material in the meantime. The exercise pieces for each different position have so far been kind of unpleasant and dry, and I still dislike the fact that a fair number of pieces require an accompanying person to play as a duet. Also weird that he finally talks about scales and arpeggios only in the last third of the book??

On lesson 12 rn, but the rest of the material is ramping up in complexity so I suspect I'll be slowing down shortly.

It’s good. I spend 10 mins a day on this as part of my regular guitar practice. I focus on one exercise at a time, start the metronome at 40 and only increase by 10% once I can do it 4 times in a row “perfectly”. Once I complete 80 bpm I move to the next.

This will take a while... I'm practicing for about 10 minutes a day, and trying to play each exercise perfectly 4 times through with the Metronome at 80 before advancing.
