Anthology of suffering fr. The prose is what keeps me going but this is a really sad book and I have no idea what Greer is going to loop this all together with at the end.

Slow start that really builds with each new character's perspective. Greer always manages to make a formative moment in a characters lifetime feel as though it happens in slow motion. The end of chapter 1 where the initial hook reaches its crescendo was brilliant. It's so nice to see where Greer started developing his writing and how it initially was shaped.
