A cool experience every time, this book is. One of my favorite Edward Packard accomplishments.

This illustration! It's never faded from my memory even slightly. The Curse of the Haunted Mansion deserves at least three stars for atmosphere, even if internal narrative continuity drags down my final rating.

One of my favorite Choose Your Own Adventures. I'll read to an ending or two now as a nightcap.

Good stuff. An ending worth writing and reading. In fact, it was this ending that hooked my sister's kids on the book.

Mrs. Krim! Yes! I love the way this book does creepy. Edward Packard may not have fulfilled the story's potential, but his work in these pages has flashes of brilliance.

The upstairs room. As iconic an image as Choose Your Own Adventure ever had. Paul Granger is, was, and always will be a literary stud.

Let's go! I've read the reissued version of this book under a different title, but I'm curious if the original has any differences.
