Some questions could not be answered in the year the book was first published, but I know from my own knowledge that science has now answered many of them now. Why is Corned Beef called so when it has no corn in it? Why do onions make you cry? Why are boat portholes round? Why are drunks described as being, "three sheets to the wind?" Why do we yawn? Why do barbershops use red-white-and-blue poles as their symbol?

This is a fun book about "Why?" We all ask that question about many topics. It is the first question a child will ask. The preface is great as well as the cover of the book.
