So many unnecessary descriptive are used it takes away from the moment. It all feels messy.

WTF just happened?! We went from being chased to him dismissing her very fair question and them having sex like WTAF.

He’s got way too many nicknames for her. We don’t really know what he actually looks like, he just assumed she was little as soon as he pulled her out the bin and everything is just jumping about. Not really a fan of this writing style. It feels like it needs to be fluffed out a bit but also cut down in other areas. It feels super rushed and assumed as well.

Dang, this was a hard book to get through. I don’t even know why I persevered. I think it was cos I wanted to read Kate Oliver’s book which is next, but this book had a bit of it at the end, and reading the teaser did not make me want to to read it. It’s too bad, but between this book being a dad (I tried to like it) and the next one not grabbing me this series is a wash. It had such promise.

Pretty sure I’m just rage reading now.

In answer to hubby's question... because I wanted to read Kate Oliver's book in this series which is next, and I like Kate Oliver. I guess there's a reason I DNFed Pepper North in the past.

In case you're wondering, I just added the book today so I could update my activity. I started it a few days ago. I just needed to have a grumble about it cos it's just terrible. Hubby just asked me why I'm still reading it...

Anyone who is even remotely connected to or knows anything basic about working in a bank will know this author did not go enough research of how banks and security access at a bank works.

THIS BOOK IS SO BADLY RESEARCHED.

Also, Ivy’s absolute refusal to confide in Steele to help protect her is just downright stupid. She is being ridiculous. There is away for her to tell Steele what’s going on and what she’s trying to keep confidential without divulging anything that would be a violation of the rules. Stupid noodle.

Obviously a serious lack of research around banking systems security and how security protocols work in a bank. Some basic research will tell you that what’s written as part of the security system Ivy is talking about doesn’t work. This lack of research just makes me mad. Banking security systems don’t work like this.

The lack of research for the correct protocol around treatment of a severe concussion and what NOT to do afterwards was enough to throw me out of the story to go grumble to my friends about it. I get suspending disbelief for fiction’s sake, but multiple orgasms after a severe concussion is too much
