The book has been decent when it comes to internal continuity, but this ending was a black eye for that.

Eh...I don't know. Some of these decisions are frustrating. They don't allow you to think clearly in the story.

Can we escape the park before midnight strikes and we're sealed inside for eternity?

I'll try the alternative option and hop out of the stalled roller coaster car, though I hesitate to leave the track.

Given how close we are to curfew, I have to assume the three of us are going to be in trouble if and when we make it home. But since declining Big Al's offer to test out the park isn't an option, let's enjoy the night!

We've been caught!

Juncture one was but the illusion of choice. So...Brad, Patty, and I are going over the wall to sneak into the carnival before it opens to the public.

I know, I know, the book is going to reject my "sensible" decision here. But it's the logical thing to do, since the carnival has yet to open to the public. Do we really think we can go on the rides before setup is completed?

Reading Give Yourself Goosebumps on Goodreads is a curious feeling. I feel close connection to both the online Goosebumps and general gamebooks communities, and this series is where the Venn diagram overlaps. It'll be fun! :-)

My understanding is that this is the only cover contributed by Tim Jacobus to Give Yourself Goosebumps, after he did all but two covers for original Goosebumps. That gator sure looks predatory enough for the purposes of a horror gamebook. I've meant for years to fully read Escape from the Carnival of Horrors so I can do an in-depth review, and now's the time.
