The lack of emotion really is the most intriguing part. Lionel’s writing style, and the way he remembers the events prove that he really does lack emotion. I also find it interesting that he talked about Jeff’s borderline personality disorder, writing what causes it, without mentioning the biggest connection of the disorder with his life- abandonment. Starting to become much more interesting at this point. It has become clear that there were many concerning issues with Jeff’s personality, that seem to have stemmed from the family dynamic that Lionel carefully analyzes and writes about in plenty of detail.

Interesting to see the differences in this memoir versus the monster series on Netflix

It’s actually crazy the parallel thoughts he had just like Jeffrey. Taking on the guilt feeling like you didn’t do enough to deter him from the things he had began doing.
