this book compares the lack of censorship in the early chinese web as "like when cars were first introduced, there were no traffic laws" LOL wow

this reading pace actually forces me to go slower than i normally do, which means i stick with the text more, which is pretty good. when i read in english sometimes it's my habit to leap over groups of paragraphs out of familiarity with each individual word, but then i kind of miss the details

finally making my very slow way through this book in chinese, it takes me like 30 minutes per chapter
