Status Updates From Art: A Beginner's Guide

Very interesting only focuses on the "old world" tho

Art's form and meaning. It addresses the elements of a two-dimensional or three-dimensional object and I found it to be pretty helpful. But when addressing meaning, especially the Derridean, it was not contributing anything. Looks more like pseudo-intellectualism.

Art has changed. From its early conception as form starting from Aristotle, the early 20th century viewed art as form as content. The changing aim, from subject matter to form, has been a decadent experience where art becomes really anything. Justification for this sort of reasoning stems when art is theoretical without its initial purposes. Buttressed by philosophers and art critics, it has become the status quo.

So much for finishing today.

A bit of background for an essay I'm writing. I'd better finish today, since I have more than enough books being read at the moment without adding another one to the pile.
